Visit The Food Barn for an exquisite meal. It has all the ingredients for a fine dining experience, located in a fresh, bright and casual venue- a farm barn. Former head chef of Constantia’s La Colombe Restaurant, a renowned chef, skilfully prepares scrumptious courses and pairs them with excellent local wines. The chef mixes Provençal, Moroccan, Middle Eastern and pan-Asian elements, but follows the worldwide food trend of going local. The Food Barn is located in nearby Noordhoek. Reservations are essential to avoid disappointment.
We go to Dixie’s for the best steaks in town and to soak up the local atmosphere. This restaurant has been serving heaped plates to the locals of Simon’s Town for decades. The pub is a lively place to watch rugby matches. It is located 5 – 10 minutes away and overlooks False Bay.
Cafe Pescado has long been our canteen when we are in the mood for Italian fare. Their oven baked pizzas are delicious. A favourite is the Capo, which mixes bacon and avocado, an excellent combination! Cafe Pescado is located 5 minutes from us in the heart of Simon’s Town, opposite Jubilee Square, where the famous statue of Just Nuisance stands.
For those who can’t go without their Sushi fix, you will not be disappointed at Just Sushi. Just Sushi uses only top quality imported Scottish Salmon, while the tuna, Cape salmon, yellowtail and squid are sourced locally. There are many options for vegetarians. Just Sushi is located 5 minutes away in Simons Town’s waterfront.
We highly recommend this authentic French patisserie, with good coffee and freshly baked delights. Alongside a wide selection of scrumptious cakes, fruit tarts, cheesecakes and éclairs, light lunches are also served.
